The use of physical sunscreen is safe and easy!
The sunscreen cosmetics we manufacture and recommend all fall into the same category, that they have physical, mineral pigments that immediately practice their sun reflecting effects, and deflects the UVA/UVB rays from the surface of skin, in other words it doesn’t get absorbed into the skin! It is important that it was planned to offer full protection against UVA and UVB rays. One of the most misconceptions, is that physical sunscreen doesn’t protect ’enough”. BIOLA’s sunscreen’s effectiveness and reliability is proven by dermatological tests.
The other false information is that some people think that physical sunscreen immediately washes off in water. BIOLA’s water repellent sunscreens were made, that after applying the sunscreen, it remains on skin even after swimming in water for 1-2 hours of playing in the sun safely- then its a good idea to reapply the sunscreen. Thanks to their highly sophisticated ingredients, that do not irritate, and the zinc oxide in our biodynamic sunscreen can even have a beneficial effect on inflamed, acne-prone skin! In fact our BB creams or makeup foundations can corrugate the skin tone to look more even, numerous customer feedback show that it has proven to be a good foundation, since the iron oxide, beetroot juice and black raspberry juice, so they don’t leave a white powdery layer on skin.
Let's be honest, physical sunscreens also have their drawbacks: those above SPF 15 leave a slightly powdery residue, but with special care, this can be remedied by the fact that although they protect immediately after application, most of them are not waterproof, so they wear off faster, and the skin surface to be protected must be re-applied regularly. Another unpopular feature is that they leave a powdery layer behind, but both our light and darker shades of sunscreen can be easily washed out of any textile. We almost forgot to mention it! The BIOLA developer team designed sunscreens in lighter shades for completely white skin, and darker shades for skin used to the sun.
Extra tip for our sunscreens: never apply to dry skin but rather spread it onto skin that is damp or that has a little organic body lotion layer on it. For face, décolleté, and shoulders areas that require stronger, more careful protection, it is definitely worth using mineral pigment sunscreens that provide physical sun protection for the first few sun exposures!
The Sun Protection Factor, the mysterious SPF
We can find products with several different SPF numbers in stores. This number indicates the factor of how much more protection time is increased compared with the time that our skin can spend in the sun without burning without sunscreen - this is 8-10 minutes for a very fair-skinned person, but skin used to the sun can also protect itself against UV radiation for 20-30 minutes. It is important that in the case of an extremely high UV index, it weakens, the SPF number of any sunscreen protects about a quarter as much. What is the solution if UV radiation is above 6? Around noon, we should be in the sun for a maximum of 15 minutes, even with organic sunscreen applied.
Children's skin is particularly sensitive, so it's a good idea to choose a sunscreen with a high factor. For them, an SPF of 30 or 50 is usually the best choice.
